Often™ is primarily a publication and newsletter website. We write about AI, real estate work, tools, workflows, and practical ways technology is changing how professionals operate.
Information We Collect
Often collects information you choose to provide, such as your email address when subscribing to the newsletter, requesting a lead magnet, contacting us, or interacting with the site. For lead-magnet requests, we also retain the requested resource, submission time, consent record, referral and campaign information you arrived with, and newsletter-sync and delivery status.
Lead-magnet information is stored in Often’s private Cloudflare D1 database so a temporary newsletter-provider failure does not cause the request or consent record to be lost. This database is not publicly accessible.
We also collect limited technical and analytics information that helps us understand how the website is used. This includes browser type, device information, pages viewed, referral sources, and basic server logs.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate and improve the website
- Deliver newsletter and publication updates if you subscribe to The Often Letter
- Send requested lead-magnet resources, including the Often AI playbooks
- Respond to messages or requests
- Understand which content readers find useful
- Maintain security and reliability of the service
We do not sell personal information.
Third-Party Services
Often uses Cloudflare Pages to host and protect the website and Cloudflare D1 to store lead-magnet request and consent records. We use Resend to deliver requested Guides and Substack to operate The Often Letter newsletter. Analytics and related infrastructure providers may also process limited technical information.
These providers process information according to their own privacy policies. A lead-magnet request is retained by Often even when Substack cannot immediately confirm the newsletter subscription, allowing us to preserve the consent record and manage follow-up without losing the email address.
Cookies & Analytics
Cookies and similar technologies are used to support core site functionality, measure readership trends, remember basic preferences, and improve the experience across the site.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may work differently if cookies are disabled.
Data Retention
We retain lead-magnet request, consent, newsletter-sync, and delivery records while your newsletter relationship remains active. If there is no active newsletter relationship, we retain these records for no more than 24 months after the most recent request or interaction, unless a longer period is required by law.
You may request access to or deletion of your lead-magnet information by emailing hello@often.to. After verifying a deletion request, we delete the email-level lead record and associated request-event records within 30 days. We may retain only the minimum information needed to honor an unsubscribe request, prevent unwanted re-subscription, or meet legal obligations.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails. You may also request access, correction, or deletion by contacting hello@often.to.
